Globalization is Thanksgiving Chez Diva

Globalization is  a British Egyptian girl living in California and hosting thanksgiving for an amazing international, multicultural group of friends.  Countries represented at my dining table include, Brazil, Kenya, Ghana, China, Egypt, England, Germany and India.  I just need a Russian then I will have representation from all the BRIC countries as well as Africa 🙂

The menu this year will be a combination of the traditional, the modern and the exotic

  • Turkey with lemon and and sage butter
  • Moroccan leg of Lamb with Cilantro, Garlic and baked Carrots
  • Potatoes and sweet Potatoes mashed with fried buttered Leeks and triple cream Brie and baked with a Cheddar crust
  • British shepherds pie with beef and onion gravy
  • Cornbread dressing with Italian Sausage, Thyme, Apples and Pomegranate
  • Jalapeno and scallion cornbread muffins
  • Parsnips, Carrots and Sweet Potatoes roasted with Honey, Garlic and Rosemary
  • Creamy traditional mashed Potatoes
  • Sweet and Sour Radicchio
  • Brussel Sprouts with Shallots and wild Mushrooms
  • Crostini with Eggplant Pesto
  • Roasted Beet Salad with Oranges and Beet Greens

Cooking for me is a passion, a party of the senses and an experience to share with good friends.  This year I will be giving thanks for the wonderful people in my life and celebrating the diversity of our cultures and remembering with gratitude, absent friends.

Happy thanksgiving everyone and let me know if you want any recipes 🙂
